Review Disclosure

Last reviewed

Readers should know when a visit, meal, stay or post was paid for, gifted or arranged by the business. This page sets out the rules we follow.

Our reviews are honest

Every review reflects what we personally experienced. We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review, and a business cannot approve or edit a review before it is published.

Gifted, invited and discounted visits

Some visits are paid for by us, and some are hosted or discounted by the venue, often at the invitation of a PR agency. When a meal, stay or experience is free or reduced, or a post is a paid collaboration, we say so clearly on that page, in line with guidance from the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

We also work with restaurants, hotels, experiences and PR agencies on paid projects. These are listed on our Clients and Testimonials page. Paid work is kept separate from our independent reviews and is always labelled.

Links to venues, menus and booking pages are there to help you. We do not currently earn commission from them. If that ever changes, the link will be marked.

Corrections

If you think a review is unfair or contains a factual error, email ali@thefoodieconnoisseur.com and we will look into it promptly.
