Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury Review: A Wonderful Family Stay in the Heart of London
Spacious family accommodation, outstanding hospitality and a fantastic location just moments from the British Museum.
Finding the perfect family hotel in central London can be challenging, especially when you want comfort, space, a convenient location and excellent service. But our recent Saturday night stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel, London Bloomsbury, delivered all of that and more! As a family of four, we have stayed at various hotels, and we know how important it is to find accommodation that works for both adults and children. This particular stay turned out to be one of our most enjoyable family hotel experiences in central London, thanks to an unexpected upgrade to a newly renovated Family Suite and some genuinely outstanding hospitality. And when I say the suite was impressive, I mean WOW!
A Fantastic Location for Exploring Central London
One of the biggest advantages of staying at Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury is its location. Situated on Bloomsbury Street, just a short walk from the world-famous British Museum, the hotel offers an excellent base for exploring some of London's most popular attractions. Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Soho and Tottenham Court Road station are all within easy walking distance. Whether you're visiting London for sightseeing, shopping, theatre shows or simply enjoying a weekend away with the family, the location couldn't be more convenient. For families travelling with children, having so many attractions nearby makes a real difference. You can spend the day exploring London, then return to the comfort of your hotel without navigating lengthy journeys across the capital. Despite its central location, we found our accommodation wonderfully peaceful, offering a welcome escape from the busy streets outside.
A Warm Welcome That Set the Tone
First impressions matter, and from the moment we walked through the doors, we felt genuinely welcomed. The hotel has a contemporary and elegant atmosphere, with stylish interiors that create a sense of luxury without feeling overly formal. Travelling with children can sometimes make luxury hotel stays feel a little restrictive, but that certainly wasn't the case here. Everything felt relaxed, comfortable and welcoming. What really stood out was the hospitality. Zubin Lobo looked after us and was absolutely outstanding throughout our visit. From the moment we arrived, he took a genuine interest in making sure we were comfortable, and our children were happy. His attention to detail, professionalism and friendly approach made us feel valued as guests. And then came the biggest surprise of our stay!
Our Newly Renovated Family Suite: Simply WOW!

We were delighted to receive an unexpected upgrade to one of the hotel's newly renovated Family Suites. Having stayed in hotels across London, I know space often comes at a premium, especially in central locations. But this suite was something else! The moment we stepped inside, we were amazed by how spacious it was. Instead of a traditional hotel room layout, our suite featured a separate bedroom, a generous living room, and a dedicated dining area. For a family of four, this made an enormous difference. The children had plenty of room to relax, while my wife and I could enjoy some privacy and comfort without everyone being confined to one space. The layout was thoughtfully designed, with contemporary furnishings and newly renovated interiors giving the entire suite a fresh, modern feel. It felt more like a luxury apartment than a conventional hotel room. I could easily see this being an excellent option for families planning longer stays in London, especially those travelling with children who appreciate having their own space.

A Bathtub That Stole the Show!

One of the most memorable features of our Family Suite was the bathtub located in the master bedroom. And believe me, the children absolutely loved it! It was such an unexpected feature and added a real sense of luxury to the accommodation. There was also a separate rain shower with several different settings, providing a relaxing experience after a busy day exploring London. The bathroom facilities were beautifully finished and complemented the suite's contemporary design. For me, though, one of the most important aspects of any hotel stay is the bed's quality. And I'm pleased to say that Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury delivered. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable, but what impressed me most were the pillows. Anyone who travels regularly will appreciate how difficult it can sometimes be to find hotel pillows that provide the right level of comfort and support. These were perfect for me, and I slept excellently.
Thoughtful Details That Made Our Stay Comfortable
Beyond the generous space and modern interiors, several smaller touches made our stay particularly enjoyable. Our Family Suite included a Nespresso coffee machine, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee without leaving the room. We also had comfortable bathrobes and slippers, which added to the luxurious experience. One practical feature I particularly appreciated was the garment steamer, which replaced a traditional iron. It's a small detail, but a useful one, especially when you're preparing to head out for dinner or an evening in London. Everything in the suite appeared carefully considered, balancing comfort, luxury and practicality. These details can make a good hotel stay feel exceptional.
Breakfast at Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury
After a wonderful night's sleep, we headed downstairs for breakfast. The breakfast offering provided a good selection of options to suit different tastes, making it an enjoyable start to our Sunday morning. One thing that particularly pleased us was the availability of halal chicken sausages. As a family that eats halal, finding suitable breakfast options at hotels can be challenging, especially when it comes to cooked breakfast selections. Seeing halal chicken sausages available was therefore a welcome surprise and something I genuinely appreciated. It's a thoughtful addition that makes breakfast more inclusive for guests with specific dietary requirements. Of course, menus and food offerings can change, so I would always recommend checking directly with the hotel if halal options are important to your stay. The breakfast experience was made even more enjoyable by Emese, who looked after us wonderfully. She was warm, attentive and welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed. It was a lovely, relaxed way to start our morning before checking out.
Outstanding Hospitality Makes All the Difference
I have always believed that a hotel's service can be just as important as its facilities. You can have beautiful interiors, comfortable beds, and an excellent location, but the people often make the biggest difference to your overall experience. That was certainly true at Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury. Zubin Lobo deserves special recognition for his exceptional hospitality. His genuine warmth, attentiveness and willingness to go above and beyond made our family feel incredibly welcome. He took the time to ensure our children were comfortable and that everything met our expectations throughout our stay. Likewise, Emese made our breakfast experience particularly enjoyable with her friendly, professional service. It's always reassuring to encounter hotel staff who genuinely care about their guests, and both Zubin and Emese left a lasting impression on us.
Is Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury Good for Families?
Based on our experience, absolutely! If you're looking for a family-friendly hotel in central London, I would recommend Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury for several reasons. The location makes sightseeing incredibly convenient, particularly if you're planning to visit the British Museum, Covent Garden or the West End. The Family Suite offers the extra space families often need, with separate living and sleeping areas for greater comfort and privacy. The contemporary interiors, comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities make it suitable for both short city breaks and longer visits. And perhaps most importantly, the welcoming hospitality creates an environment where families can genuinely relax and enjoy their stay. Although our visit was a family weekend away, I could equally see the hotel appealing to couples planning a London date-night escape, visitors attending West End theatre performances or travellers looking for comfortable accommodation in the heart of the capital.
Our Final Verdict: Would We Stay Again?
Without hesitation! Our Saturday night stay at Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, everything felt welcoming, comfortable, and well organised. The unexpected upgrade to the newly renovated Family Suite was undoubtedly a highlight, offering impressive space, beautiful contemporary interiors, and excellent facilities. The bathtub was a huge hit with the children, the beds and pillows provided a wonderful night's sleep, and the breakfast was a lovely way to begin our Sunday. But what truly made this stay memorable was the hospitality. A special thank you once again to Zubin Lobo and Emese for looking after our family so wonderfully. Their genuine care and attention helped turn an enjoyable overnight stay into a memorable family experience. I genuinely couldn't fault anything about our visit. If you're planning a family weekend in London and want a hotel that combines a central location, spacious accommodation, comfort and excellent service, Radisson Blu London Bloomsbury is well worth considering. We would happily return! The Foodie Connoisseur UK Verdict: Highly recommended for families, couples and visitors looking for a comfortable, well-located hotel in central London.
